Firstly I wish to appreciate this platform for sharing our knowledge and ideas with people arround the world. Thanks a lot for your time, effort and wishes!

We all know in Physics that according to law of attraction opposites attract, but similar poles repel. This applies to boy-girl attraction due to opposite sexes, but not fully as boy-boy and girl-girl attraction is also there! Moreover, relationship works well with like-minded people and is very difficult to carry over if two people have different belief systems. Now I fail to understand if similar poles repel each other, then how come similarity works in relationships?

If any one can solve this dileema for me and have some clarifications, then I will be very grateful to you. Any other view point (scientific / logical / practical / social) to explain this phenomenon is most welcome!

Im glad you try to look at things in the eyes of quantum physics. if you apply the law of attraction to the bonding between two sexes you should change the way you look at it. Dont imply opposite attraction to opposite sexes. its true think alikes get along. but if you look at the beginning of any relationship (human) it has happend because of resistance. imagine if you had a naked girl right infront of you and she would not give you what you want, whats there ? resistance mate resistance. resistance creates attraction (not in all cases, but thats how it is in human psychology). thats the same case for same sex attraction, theres resistance before attraction. hope i didnt make a mess trying to explain it.

I understand the law of attractions very differently.
In quantum physics, the law of attractions refers to how like particles attract each other in a vacuum. And this does apply to relationships. Not in the boy-girl way, as you suggested, but as in views on life or emotional tendencies, or even emotional needs. When two people who are in a relationship are both willing to look at their emotional junk openly, they just might see how much alike they are. However, the law of attractions is also how prayer works. I bet you can read all about it if you do an internet search.

How can we apply the laws of Magnetism to human relationships, just because of commonality of words, process or phenomenon of attraction or repulsion/revulsion?It's alright for a writer to indulge in such flights of imaginations but not by down to earth people like you and me and that too in a totally different field ie human relationship which has no relevance what so ever with theory of magnetism. It's precisely at this point that a contradiction of this nature though customary should be nailed ,identified, understood and may be,discarded instead of later trying to explain the unexplainable and get bogged down.Human relationship is a complex issue and can't be bound or explained in such precise scientific terms.Let's clear the issue once for all .As to why we are attracted to or repulsed by other people, there are numerous studies, experiments, even theories, which have tried and are trying and shall continue to do so ,to explain the phenomenon but only conditionally and marginally.Complex issue don't yield to simplistic solutions.Hope it gives you a line of thinking to proceed on your quest for the answer. All the best.

Laws governing higher beings like humans will be greater than that governs the physical matter. Of course, the higher will not contradict the lower, the former incorporates the latter and goes on expanding to include much more phenomena.Accordingly,in human beings , more than like/dislike-attraction/repulsion, it is the awareness of each other as they are, recognise and regard each other unconditionally creates connectedness and bonding, which is indeed a higher order principle which accept many divergent elements and yet live in harmony

Because human emotions and social interactions are not governed by the rules of physics. Love is not an exact science.

If 2 people are so different from eachother belief wise, interest wise, it makes sense that they may eventually drift apart.

Everything happens because you believe in it. Start believing and it will happen, in relationships I mean.
