I'll probably get a violation, but today I have encountered so many mean, selfish people. I usually am so nice to people I don't tell tell what I really think. So tonight I sit alone and am feeling so sad and glum and there's no one around but you guys...can you say something nice to help me change the way I feel??? It's new years in 3 hours, and I am wanting to stay awake, but I don't want to be lonely AND sad!!

You are not alone many of us nice people get the blues sometimes, don't let those mean spirited people get you down. You are a great human being! Happy New Year. It is going to be a good year and you need to do something fun for yourself rather than rely on other people. Watch a movie, take a nice, long bubble bath, write a list of things to do this year or better yet, send someone a card/letter that you haven't talked with in a while. Start a journal of your thoughts and dreams. Go through a Drive-Thru and get yourself a milkshake! Have fun and cheer up!

Come on sweetie I don't think it's that bad. Tomorrow is a new day with new things to discover and new people to meet.
Somewhere down the road your life is going to be filled with happy people that will make you smile and laugh. You just wait and see. If you can be a little patient and take the bad for a while the good is sure to follow.
Put that smile back on your face and straighten your shoulders back. Nobody can get you down. You are a strong person and that's the way it's going to be until those good days roll around.

I can't help but can join in your loneliness. Misery loves company. New Year's is always depressing for me for some reason. I guess you can think about how this year is gonna be better than last. And there are lots of people who have it worse than you. Be thankful for what you do have. Even if it's just an internet connection.
