i would prefer to hear from people who have had either one
I'm in an open relationship, and while i don't sleep with anyone else,
my boyfriend does.
i know i have something,
the spot between my clitoris and my vaginal opening is SUPER itchy,
i've felt pain urinating at one point,
and pain after sex.

What your describing could be caused by a number of different things. As you're unsure, I strongly suggest you see your OB/GYN to get checked out for sure. While a yeast infection left untreated isn't a big deal, many other STDs have extremely similar symptoms (or no symptoms at all).
Also-having unprotected sex with your man, who is apparently having unprotected sex with others, is asking for trouble. Next time it could be herpes. Or HIV. If you're in an open relationship, you need to be hyper vigilant about safe sex.

I've had a yeast infection before and based on your symptoms it sounds like you could have a yeast infection going but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think it is.

Because of " itchy" most probably it is yeast infection.
It is BETTER to have "swab" and do "culture and sensitivity".
Not only to make sure of what it is, but more importantly, the treatment is different. DO IT.( and your boyfriend too).
