My external hard drive needs to come up on my computer as the E Drive but its keeps coming up as the F drive. I have plugged it into every USB Port on my computer with no success. Any ideas.

Thanks

plug it in, let it take the letter (I assume nothing else is Using E, if so follow the same steps as below (but first) to move E to something else.)
RIGHT CLICK on MY COMPUTER
Select MANAGE
Select LOCAL DISK MANAGEMENT
If there's a drive E (CD for example)
RiGHT CLICK it in lower pane, select CHANGE LETTER
Give it something a little higher like H or J
Click OK
Repeat for the Ext drive, and set to E
If you moved a CD, Move it back to F now if you like.

Are you sure drive letter E is not already in use?
You can manually change the letter; Plug in you Hard disk, Right click on 'My Computer', select 'Manage', click on 'Disk Management' from the left pane, right click on you hard disk and select 'change drive letter'.
That should do it. Also, fyi, changing USB ports will not effect the drive letter.

Because there's already a drive (Hard Disc, CD/DVD Drive) set as the E drive?
