Time may be intangible but is real thing as matter. Distance and time are both measurement parameters which are observable by both humans and other animals. Human beings, plants and animals have a biological clock and it tells each plant, human and animal when to eat, sleep and when to wake up. In addition to this, we are able to reset this clock to fit in more usefully with our everyday life. We don't need science to prove existence of time concept. If you say distance between two point is a reality, then separation between two events called time is also a reality.
Scientists are only looking where and how 'The time thing' popped in as how 'The dimensions popped in' with start of universe. Space time curvature around massive body and twin paradox are absolutely true.
And as Minkowski said :
Space by itself, and time by itself, are doomed to fade away into mere shadows, and only a kind of union of the two will preserve an independent reality.

They can't explain it because it does not exist as an element of the universe, man invented it because he needed it to. calculate speed and distance of movement. If you, or anyone reading this would like to learn more, contact me at

if it wouldn't somehow exist you would have a problem to explain aging.
WHAT it is, is a different story.
First there was newton pinpointing everything to it calling time to be the only absolute.
Later when scientists figured that time must be variable and somehow the speed of light seemed to be the absolute Einstein came up and gave us a totally new idea about
what was later called SPACETIME
combining the 3 dimensions of space with the 1 dimension of time to make another model from it, in mind.
So along with this insight we should have a good idea about what time is and in my opinion it IS explained well that way.
what exactly is stirring up dirt is, that there must be something different in this picture ...something which we do not yet completly understand. and time is part of it.. who knows which part....

Being able to explain something or not doesn´t mean we can´t prove it exists. We can prove time exists. Belief is irrelevant.

Time is a concept created by human in order to achieve a better society. Be believe it exists because we use this concept daily, and our lives depend on this same concept. Perhaps it doesn't exist, but by the definition of the concept it does to us.

Mainly because we have memories that show us that time has passed.
Science doesn't have the answers to everything, that's what research is for. 100 years ago they couldn't explain how a baby was born with blue eyes instead of brown, but that didn't stop anyone from believing it happens.
