Kinda there is. When you drive the Dalton hwy to Prudhoe bay its a secured area so yea you stop. Beyond that is the arctic ocean and the Chukchi sea. Were only the Polar bears roam. The Dalton follows the Alyeska pipeline and crosses vast areas of open tundra and crosses the mighty Brooks range where the most challenging part of the road is at Atigan Pass. I have roamed the North slope many times, Like all of Alaska it should not be taken lightly. Hope this helps.

You know I just don't remember. We were too busy getting into a single prop plane to fly into the artic circle to go on a dogsled ride.....
