I'm pretty sure you've answered one of my questions before and you know how amazing I think Yale is. Well one of my friends got accepted into Yale with:
SAT - 2310
GPA - 4.5 weighted/#2 in class
E.C. - cross country, stuco (student boy veep), dance team, ballet, nhs, math honor society, anchor club, student recruitment team. All of them for 4 years.
She probably had a killer essay as well.

My question is what do you think it is that made her "stand out"?

It is kind of obvious, isn't it? She sounds like a nearly perfect candidate -- great grades, nearly perfect SAT and lots of extra-curriculars. Perhaps she will show you the admissions letter that she wrote to help you see what kind of essay grabs their attention.

Why are you talking to me like I have no idea what I'm talking about? I went to private school for two years, and the academics are no better than public schools. My classes are very difficult this year and I'm still doing well academically, so don't talk to me like I'm an idiot.

If anything, my C in Calculus shows the level of difficulty the class entails. So please, save me you online bragging and don't comment unless you really know what you are talking about.
