I would really hope so. I'm trying to live what is left of my life by making sure that when I leave I do leave a mark and an impression... and people will miss having me around and think of me with fondness.
People move on though-- it's meant to happen. I want them to. Imagine how sad life would be if our death were ignored, our life not remembered and our name forgotten? It would be even sadder to think that someone's life has been stuck in grief because of losing us.
I hope people miss me for a bit, then move on with their lives, but when they hear my name, it makes them smile.. and "when they dance, they think of me..."

I would hope. I think everyone has value. When one is born or even dies, there are ranges of emotion from joy and happiness to sadness and, at times, remorse. I would hope that if I gave someone a measure of hope or even a glimmer of what is truly in my heart that my footprints would remain for at least a while.
