I wouldn't know considering Democrats are far from socialists.
To play your little game, considering the founding fathers were active in enlightenment thinking, they would emphatically agree with most socialist principles.

Liberals are for Individual Rights, Equality and Civil Liberties. While not all our founders were consistent with Individual Rights for all, some of them were.

It doesn't matter what the Founding Fathers would have thought - time changes things, and we're living in a different world than theirs. I imagine they would be more impressed by television, automobiles, and airplanes than by socialism, if they were here today. But they're not, and as much as we owe them for what they gave us, they did not intend their creation to remain static. Do Second Amendment supporters believe that they are only entitled to own a pre-1786 firearm? No, they expect everyone to understand that changes in gun design have not altered the PRINCIPLE involved. What principle of economics is laid out in the Constitiution? I don't see the word capitalism anywhere in it, and I don't see the word corporation. Nowdays corporations wield more rights than individuals, like it or not, yet they're not mentioned by the Founders. Later judges decided that corporations possess the same rights as individuals, and later politicians proposed social programs for the disadvantaged - after the robber barons proved themselves too greedy to be trusted with the stewardship of our economy. They were polluting our water and our air, exposing their employees (including children) to unsafe working conditions, and selling snake oil to unsuspecting consumers, among other abuses, so the Congress had to restrain them. The beauty of our Constitution is that it was designed to change with the times.

Some might support the democrats and some might support republicans. After all, there were anti-federalists and federalists back then..
I dont understand how democrats are socialists. Many democrats support capitalism and private private property.

Since they had major disagreements on the size and the scope of government power, the role of states rights, and how to organize the country's finances then, I think it is safe to assume the would also disagree about policies in the US today. They would be shocked at the giant corporations that dominate the US economy, and they did show concern for the poor and provided for the needy so it is quite likely that some would be democrats.
To take peoples writing out of time and place can lead you to all sorts of ridiculous conclusions, for example that some of the founding fathers would support the re-institution of slavery.

This is a typical right-wing tactic. Just label something socialist or communist and then you don't have to worry about whether it actually makes sense or not. Trouble is...if democrats are socialists - then republicans are socialists too. They believe in the same things. Ever hear of a republican who would admit he wanted to do away with social security? Nope. He just wants to cut it. Or eliminate aid to the poor? Nope. Just cut it. Any of the repub candidates want to do away with Medicare? Not a chance. But they want to cut it - while more and more become eligible for it and the cost of health care goes up. So..if dems are socialist, then so are republicans (except maybe Ron Paul). Maybe we should call them "socialist lites."

The first response rationalizes the preamble of the constitution to support a ridiculous assertion. A preamble is an introduction and nothing more. It does not serve as a basis to justify the socialist nonsense coming from the mouths of the Three Stooges running for President on the Democrat ticket. The founding fathers would not support the Democrats socialist proposals.
The ignorance of liberals and Democrats never ceases to astound me. That is why they are the party of losers.

Dems are liberals - not socialists - the same as many of the founding fathers - you know the people who told us it was the government's responsibility to promote the general welfare of the people.
