its pissing me off ...me and my sister are really pretty and some of our female relative aint happy with that..like one of my uncles wife is always after my sister oww she is short oww she is chubby oww how come your weight is so low while you look so fat...argghh and last night when we went out for dinner this other cousin started commenting on me your teeth are out(which aint) blonde highlightes doesnt look good on you, you need to have brown highlightes instead..Man that pisses me off and i seriously dont know how to answer them back...what exactly should i do to get my attention off when they say such things about us and why are they doing like this ?why why why?

The silent pen nice question! i am telling you because we get dozens of compliment everyday when we meet people...we live in this small town and everyone know us two sister as been the town prettiest girls specially my elder sister she is wow! plus when me and my sister went to london i went to meet my community people (loads of them like in a hall)all the pretty girls in our community kept staring at me and my sister so what does that show? am i blowing my own trumpet lol sorry

wel come back at her really confidently, sarply and fiercely. but also, is it any wonder they say these things when you are clearly so full of yourself!!! is it any wonder they are trying to bring you both out of your own arses. its probably suposed to be for your own good.

See there are all kinds of people in the world and there is no rhyme and reason for them to be that way. I have my own take on this, I prefer to humour such people by pretending to be genuinely interested in their opinions and keep bugging them for more on how to improve, generally they stop giving unwanted advice when I get on their case!!
Secondly, if you are aware of what u are and are happy with it, I dont see any reason why you should be bothered about their comments and u shud just let em be. Jealousy is a common human emotion and they are just ordinary people with ordinary (& at times stupid) ideas, Just let them be the way they are, or better still compliment them on their worst features and try to be honest when u do it. This is like giving em some of their own back.

sounds like they are jealous.
Rise above these hurtful comments. When a nasty comment is made then just smile or laugh and say "well I prefer my hair this way" OR "That's funny no one else thinks we are chubby are you sure you are not looking in the mirror"

Hello Yasmin,
It is sad to say but I am afraid you will find people like you have described everywhere and will do for the rest of your life.
Anyone who has to stoop to criticism like this I feel are very sad and have to be pitied.
There are a few things you could do.
1) Ask those who are making these hurtful comments to explain why and why they feel they need to.
2) Tell them that whenever they criticise you, they are hurting you deeply.
3) Be sarcastic to them and say that you are sorry that you cannot be as perfect as they obviously think they are.
4) Tell them that you are happy with the way your are and look and they should stop crticising you.
5) Tell them that there are several things about them that you could criticise, such as their constant criticism of you, but tell them that you would not dream of doing so.
In the situation you and your sister find yourself, you need to fight fire with fire a little. Your are entitled to be treated with respect and if they cannot give you both that respect, how can you respect them.
In a previous answer, the fact that you may be prettier than them, or they think you are, may be the reason they are being so 'bitchy'.
In the end though, it is they who have the problem, not you or your sister.
If these people are saying this to your face, I would like to know what is being said behind your back.

How do you know that your pretty? Maybe thats just what you think. Other people may look at you and think different. Girls/women have no way of judging if they are good looking or not. It's like me saying, I think that feller is good looking. How can I tell?

maybe if they think you are that shallow type that places great importance on looks (I didnt say you are..but the way you described the problem gives the impression that you might be)..then they know then can really wind you up with a few nudges about your looks...I would guess they are winding you up..and enjoying watching you get annoyed about it...the best way is to "pretend" to ignore their digs..rise above them..kind of sucks the wind out of their sails!
