I do.

If my main internet gets disrupted, I can use my emergency dial-up account any time. I only pay $5.00 a month for the dial-up, so it's no big deal for me. I will never be left in the cold without Internet.

if my internet were to go down, i'd just hop in my car and take a ride up to Krystal or any other place with free wi-fi with my laptop if there was some emergency, or if i wanted to put a bid on ebay at the last minute possible.

I also keep a back up dial-up provider.
Very handy if I'm away, because there is a contact number for the service, virtually anywhere (except really out of the way places like Burkina Faso).

I mainly use it for checking emails through my notebook computer, if I'm away from home.
