I been working there for over a year and couple of months and I never got time and half for holidays. I was wondering if that is legal in michigan for a company to do that? If it is illegal I will bring the house down on footlocker.

Paying time and a half or double time for holidays is not regulated by the state, but by the company. If you have an employee handbook it should state which (if any) holidays you will be paid a premium rate for. The company is under no obligation to pay extra for ANY holiday.

File a complaint against your employer for not paying the correct salary and overtime pay so that it will be ordered by the court to comply with labor standards.

They are not required to pay overtime at all unless you have worked over 40 hours in a workweek.

There are no laws concerning holiday pay....it doens't exist.

Michigan requires time-and-a-half pay ONLY for hours over 40 in a workweek.

Holiday pay isn't required at all, nor is paying overtime for holidays.

I highly doubt there is a law stating you must be paid time and a half for holidays.

In Minnesota there is no such law. And, there is no such federal law.

Typically, most states only dictate that time and half must kick in after a certain amount of hours worked.

Look it up online.

Type something like

michigan, statutes, employment, overtime or a combination of them into yahoo or google
