I was surprised to find that it meant "moonlight" in Wikipedia. So that's a nice name.

However, if you are living in an English speaking community, you will find that it is unprouncable for others as it has unusual combinations of letters for an English word.

If you are going to shorten it, or if you do not mind it being misspelt or not pronounced correctly, then go ahead. Congratulations on your baby, Lots of joy ahead !

Jyotsana is a word in Hindi language.It means divine light. It is a common and beautiful name given to girls here.Some girls are named JYOTI also.
