Get your baby on a feeding schedule. The same amount every same number of hours.
It will take probably a week to figure out the schedule.

That should have your son sleeping through the night in no time.

My daughter has been since 8 weeks old thanks to a schedule.. after a breastfeeding failure I decided to formula feed (tear). Schedules work amazingly though I've discovered! Thank god.

Once a schedule is adapted, make sure your son eats no more than one hour before bed (to keep him fuller longer).

first of all a formula fed baby doesn't eat every 2 hours he/she should be eating every 3-4 hours...he/she might not be getting enough to eat at one feeding try upping the ounces and try to lay the baby on his/her tummy, that's what worked for mine they only slept on their tummies from the time they came home up un till well they still sleep like that and they are 7 and 4 but i also breast fed them both....it sounds like the baby is still hungry try feeding more, and put some music on real low and that helps calm them .

If he is waking every 2 hours to eat he isn't getting enough to eat during feedings. It can be a vicious cycle because he isn't getting enough sleep either so he probably is falling back to sleep before he is full. A little rice cereal mixed in with the formula may help. The reason doctors don't recommend this is because the baby's digestive system isn't developed enough yet. I would call you doctors office and talk to the nurse. She may have some suggestions for you. Arbitrarily telling you to switch to breast feeding isn't always going to solve the problem. I have 4 very healthy children in their 20's who for medical reasons were never breast fed. Call your doctor's office and see what they recommend.

Very easy - but a little bit wordy for YA. Buy a copy of "babywise", follow his instructions to the t, and in 3 days your baby should sleep through the night. All my kids have slept through the night, from about 3 days (6 hours) and 3 weeks (8 hours) and 12 weeks (12 hours) until they are about 4 when they need less sleep. Babies can be trained to sleep through the night. Waking every 2 hours is a habit that needs to be broken.

I'm not an expert, but I have relied heavily on this website. I have three girls, the youngest of whom is four months old. Waking up during the night has always been an issue but I have gotten a LOT of answers from this site...

Sleep all through the night at 2 months? whao! where then is the joy of motherhood. You must experience all the bits and **** to be able to proudly beat your chest and say, yes, I am a mother. But on a serious note, to start with, I'd advise you breast feed your baby but if there is any cogent reason why you cant, maybe on medical or health reasons, then dont. You may have to add water to the baby's meal instead of cereal, cereal is dangerous to their health at this stage of their lives. Let baby lie face down to sleep, it helps make them sleep longer. All the best.

Sleeping through the night at 2 months! If only babies were that easy.

A baby is growing so rapidely at this time it need frequent feeds through the night to mame s sure it thrives and gains weight accordingly.

One of the main reasons babies do not stay in their centile chart curve is because they just don't get enought food. Frequent feeding, even through the night is absolutely normal and exected until a baby is around 6 months when their little tummys are bigger and can hold more food to take them through longer stretches without to re-fuel so frequently.

Remember it takes approximately 2 hours to digest a meal; with that in mind you can understand why you new baby is waking. He is formula fed which will take a little longer to digest but not that long. You should expect 3 hours between feeds. If this is not the case try just picking him up and holding him until he settles and then put him back down in his crib. If he starts crying again don't rush in just take a few moments to listen to his cry: what do you hear?

Is it a cry that is: 1) monotone and not rising in pitch; just the same low tone wa wa wa? 2) Or is it escalating in pitch and sounding distressed?

1) If it's the first one just try going to him and reassuring g him you're there, pick him up if you need to. But then put him down again.

2) if it's escalating in pitch and sounding stressed and inconsolable he is hungry and you should just feed him. Why delay feeding a hungry baby. He will be going through growth spurts like crazy so may be very hungry for a few days sometimes, outside his normal feeding patterns.

If he doesn’t get the food/nutrition his body needs expect him to lose weight on you next check up. If he has you'll know he needs more food.

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING you can do to guarantee your baby will sleep though the night.

Some babies naturally will and are slow to gain weight and other take 2 years. Time will tell you which type of baby you have.

Good luck, hope it helps

I think 2 months is very young age and its normal that she wakes up for feeding. some kids dont feed properly they sleep while feeding and dont drink much that could last them for 4-5 hours. so when you feed him make him drink at least 4 ounces that will keep him full for at least 4-5 hours and yes your baby will wake up at least 2-3 times for feeding in a night. so dont worry . be happy and be patient its very normal. Also give a look to this article hope u will get some nice tips here as well http://luckyamaan.com/category/breast-feeding/
DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY CEREALS OR ANY SOLID STUFF AT THIS TENDER AGE HE IS JUST 2 MONTHS HIS INTESTINES ARE NOT MADE TO DIGEST ANYTHING OTHER THAN MILK, PLEASE BE CAREFUL .
