ppl say oh they lost to detroit, orlando, and cavs, they arent a genuine contender for the championship

if that is the case, why have they lost fewer games than anyone else in the league

why is it when other elite teams lose to mediocre and terrible teams no one brings that up to argue that the elite team is a fake?

Because they don't think that the Celtics have had enough time to build chemistry. They also question the amount of experience that they've had. If they start beating elite teams like the Pistons, Spurs, Suns, and Mavs, they'll gain more respect.

People aren't smart. Their only losses have been very close ones to good teams. The Celtics got so much hype from the media that every team is going to bring their A game when playing them. It's a lot like the Patriots this season. People can say what they want, we know the Celtics are good. It's basically a brand new team and they are playing really well together. Give them a few more seasons together and the Big 3 will start playing like they did tonight, every night. They are going to end up being the most hated team in the NBA because of their greatness. Just like the Patriots are the most hated team in the NFL. People don't want to see greatness unless it's their team. Sox/Pats/Celts til the end of time!

until their current west coast swing, nobody could say how they're doing against the Western Conference, and make the point that the West is a superior conference. so they nitpicked their few losses, which happened to be to 2 of the best in the East, and last year's Eastern champs. now that they've gone 4-0 on their road trip out west, the naysayers will say they haven't faced SA, Dallas, Phoenix, GS, whoever else. and if they beat them, they'll come up with an excuse. let people say what they want. it'll fuel their fire, and hopefully the Cs will stay motivated and healthy. motivation will not be a problem. but the Boston Three Party playing lots of minutes could be a factor as the season wears on. hopefully Doc will manage their minutes to keep them fresh and healthy (yeah right, he just wants to keep winning for everyone who's been saying he can't coach. even though they're right).

Look for the last several years fans of Western Conference teams have been beat up by the Mavs and Suns and absolutely pulverized by the Spurs. Fans of Western Conference teams know how tough and competitive the Conference is.

Now here comes a bunch of folks screaming "Our team is best" "Our team is best". And is it the fans of the forementioned Suns, Mavs or Spurs? Why no. It is somebody from the lowly Eastern Conference doing the screaming.

So try to be more understanding of where fans in the West are coming from. For several years being good or great meant beating the Mavs, Suns or Spurs.

So the Celts are going to have to prove themselves to fans from the Western Conference. They'll do that by beating the Suns, Mavs or Spurs. Consistently. Over and over.

No, people just want a reason to knock them. It's a long season, everybody is going to to lose to someone they shouldn't. The Celtics so far just haven't been in a lot of close games, which is a good thing, and they will have close games in the play-offs.

Personally, I think by the end of the season, the chemistry will be right, add to that fact that they are in the Eastern conference. Miami did the same thing in one year and won the whole thing, no reason to believe Boston can't do the same.

In the recent past, I have said that the Pistons are my favorite to win the East. I have never felt that the Celtics aren't contenders or couldn't beat the Pistons. Perhaps you are overreacting to people who feel like I do, but don't word their responses coherently.

- 3 hall of fame players on the team
- Refs support...stars get extra special treatment therefore 3 times the amount of nuthugging of the Celtics by David stern and the refs

don't you get it?

Boston sports before New England and the Red Sox in the past 5 years has been sucking...especially in basketball...thats a huge market and now that Football and Baseball are doing well in Boston, this is where Stern steps in and attracts people to the basketball market which used to be huge in Boston

special treatment thats all

championship or not...you guys are gonna resemeble the current Miami CHeat in 2-3 years...KG, Ray Allen and Pierce are in their 30s now and they will be no good in 2 years when they're all washed up and you got their unmovable fat contracts gutting the team while having no draft picks

Enjoy the ride while it lasts....

let us see after the all star break. by that time, they would have played with every team in the nba. then we could say whether or not they are a good team or not. it's still too early to say anything. besides, it's just natural to lose against the pistons, magic or the cavs. if teams like minnesota or seattle defeats you, now that's something
