I was recently a psych 2nd major and early childhood, but i think I am going to switch to just psychology. If anyone could let me know who has a BA in psychology, and what kind of jobs, other than a child pyschologist, could i use that degree to work with children?

You could do social work, counseling, basically anything that involves children that are in-need or are going through rough times.

Most colleges and schools have the psychology major. Check into the schools in your area to find more information. If you are looking for an online BA program, Ashford University and NorthCentral University are great places to start. They are regionally accredited and not quite as expensive as some of the other schools out there.

You can use the BA in psychology as a preparation for various fields in social and case work, human resources, teaching in schools, and others. Check out the resources I have listed below, and I wish you the best in your search.

You could get an AA in chemical dependency counseling and work with kids who have dual diagnoses: chemical dependency and a co-morbid mental disorder. The treatment field desperately needs clinicians and counselors who have both of these qualifications. There is a great shortage of treatment professionals who can treat kids with co-occurring disorders. You could also go for an AA in criminal justice, and then perhaps work with kids who are involved in the court system. You could work as a juvenile probation officer, or a drug court officer, or work with kids in rehabilitation.

I'm planning on getting a degree in Psychology when I'm older. I want to be an Art Therapist. You need to be good at Art, too, but it sounds really interesting, and you can specialise in working with children.
