He wants to give them amnesty. He's been one of the leading senators in the push for amnesty, this is one reason so many people don't want to vote for him.

McCain would focus on securing the borders, and provide amnesty only after illegals paid large fines. He also is not advocating social security payments as some allege. No one in the country illegally could collect SS under his proposed legislation.
