You feel pain do to sensory nerves that are located all over and in your body.

You feel pain because these sensory nerves are irritated and they send electric impulses through a system of nerves that are covered by myeline(sp) sheaths and travel to the brain which then tells you something like, "This is not good" and makes you feel pain as a result of the "this is not good" signals it recieved so that way you will know something is wrong.
