I think you will be fine. You can be anything you want to be, as long as you are determined and stay focused. Don't give up. Good luck!

Nursing school is really hard. My best friend is almost done and it is alot of hard classes. But it all depends on ur study ehtics and how badly u want to become a nurse. It is a wonderful job. Nurses will be needed forever. I say its a great choice. Just think it through a little more and maybe do some interning at a hospital to see if its what u really want to do. U could also take classes that are required for nursing but also fits the classes for something else u are interested in so that if you decide it is too hard then you wouldnt have wasted your time and you wont have to start over again... Good luck

When you said you were an average student, I was picturing C's on everything, and I was about to tell you that you should go to a community college and transfer. Looking at your grades, though, you absolutely can do this, and if you want to go to a 4-year college from the beginning, you can almost certainly do that. What you still need to do is to develop some confidence in yourself. Remember that when you start college, everything that went before is erased and you can reinvent yourself. Just because you were an average high school student doesn't mean that you have to be an average (or less) college student.

I am no doc or nurse, but i am less than a average student. I hate (hated school) i just barley passed high school, not because it was hard, but because i wasn't interested. I later decided i wanted to become a Physical Therapist. It's a lot of hard work, and a ton of school, but the thing is. if you like it and really want to do it, the work isn't that hard, and you just keep thinking that once you finish school, you finally get to do what you want in life. So I think if its something you really want to do. You could be a great nurse, maybe you will like it so much you will become a dr. you never know until you try. but it's worth trying if you really want to do it.

ah thats like just how i was! okay well right now i am in school for PTA (physical therapist assistant) but i have probably half of my classes with the nurses. so like our anatomy and physiology lab and stuff we have together.
anyway, i didnt do too good in highschool, A's B's and occasional C.
but now i am doing awesome! i have a 3.9 because i actaully LIKE what im doing. i LLOVE a&p, and i think that as long is it is something you want to do, you will do fine.
i took 2 terms of a&p my senior year of highschool so i had some of it, and over the summer i got a book called get ready for a&p..it was SO helpful and it really did get me ready.
a lot of the A&P books acatully come with things like that.
they also come with CD's usually.
and there are a bunch of sites to help you with it.
www.getbodysmart.com
www.anatomyandphysiology.com
and alot more.
anyway, i def. think you could do it! i was a little nervous at first because i was never a great student, but i absolutely love school and have been doing really good.
it is a lot of work..at my shcool the PTA and nursing kids are ALWAYS busy, but if you work at it you will do fine!..its not easy, but its not insanely hard either.
i would definetly say go for it, and if you are nervous for a&p there are so many things you can do to prepare for it, plus alot of the people i know never has it before and are doing fine.
good luck!!

Absolutely! My best friend didn't do so well in High School, but now is an RN at Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills!
It takes work and effort, but you can do it!
It's great that you want to be a nurse--the country needs more of them, and those who want to do it. Good luck!

you are probably an average student because high school kind of sucks. but, if you are going after something that you really want, you're more motivated to actually WORK for it. you can't do anything if you push yourself. GO FOR IT!

... not a problem for you. You're going to be expected to do and learn a lot more in nursing school than high school.
