It's got Vista(home premium) installed on it. I will play games sometimes but nothing high-end. The cpu is a T7250!

How much will 4GB of ram show off itself in comparison to 2GB?

a big performance difference in vista between 1 and 2 gig. you will get some additional speed with 2-4 but not the same increment as 1-2. For the price you're looking at theres no way its worth that much unless you can write it off to tax or something.

for that much you could probably buy an asus xg station (external graphics accelerator) when they come out next year. that would give you waaaay more performance increase in games than 4g ram.

It's not that simple with a laptop ... firstly you'll only have 2 DIMMS so you'll have to buy 2 x 2GB sticks and be left wondering what to do with your existing 2 x 1GB sticks ... if you're not a hard core gamer I wouldn't worry ... 2GB is more than adequate for most applications under Vista Home Premium

it really depends on if your going to really use that much memory like if you want lots of games like world of warcraft and etc then you should get the 4gb but if you wont then you should get the 2gb

you do not need to pay that much!
just go to newegg and then narrow your results by the type of memory you need!4GB is like $100

remember tho with that your motherboard or OS can count up to 4gb and that your laptop battery drain a bit faster.
