My dad's computer is being ravaged by these damn popups and these bastards need to pay....

These are not ordinary popups on websites, these are MALICIOUS popups that completely overtake the entire screen of the computer and popups blockers cannot block them. This crap needs to stop because it is an attack on someone's personal property.

No, pop-up ads are completely legal. They are part of the website you are viewing.


Your question is kind of like asking: "can we sue the companies that are advertising on the billboards for making the freeway look ugly?"

No, because pop-up ads are perfectly legal. The advertiser pays the website owner for the right to put pop-ups on his site.

If you don't like them, IE includes a pop-up blocker, just turn it on.
