v² = u² + 2as

u = 64ft/s
a = +32ft/s² (positive acceleration as we are considering velocity towards the ground as positive)
s = 480ft

v² = 64² + 2*32*480
= 4096 + 30720
= 34816ft²/s²

v = √34816
≈ 186.6 ft/s (ignoring air resistance)

v ² = u ² + 2 g s
v ² = 64 ² + 2 x 32 x 480
v ² = 64 ² + 30720
v = 187 ft / s (to nearest whole number)

it will hit the ground with the velocity
= √ [(64)^2 + 2*32*480] ft/sec = 186.59 ft/sec

2gd = Vf^2 - Vi^2
Vf = sqrt[2gd + Vi^2]
Vf = sqrt[2(32)(480) + 64^2]
Vf = 186.6 ft/sec ANS

Hope I help.
