I think Sammy is cooler but the band was better with DLR. What do you think?

Sammy is a good guy and I like the songs he did with VH. But DLR was the man. You gotta love his attitude. We will still be listening to the early VH songs 50 year from now. Classic stuff.

With Van Halen DLR was the way better lead singer. BUt if your talking about solo it's Sammy by far. And I do agree that Sammy is a nicer than David I know a guy who works for a radio station and he interviewed him he said that he was a total jerk

I won't even hesitate: David Lee Roth by a landslide. He has the most personality, the most interesting vocal choices, the most courageous delivery. Love or hate his persona, he's quite the entertainer. I have nothing against the other two singers they've used, but DLR's Van Halen made many classic songs (and a couple classic albums: Fair Warning and Women and Children First), and the songs from those first six albums are the ones which will be remembered by rock fans now and in the future.

I agree. sammy seems like a cool guy, but the music was way better with Diamond Dave. But one must consider the different eras they were with the band- things were much different in the late 70's and early 80's.....

i don't think this is even close, it's david lee roth by far...the vast majority of their popularity came with him, and the quality of their music went downhill with sammy

Diamond Dave by far, nothing against Hagar but when i think of Van Halen i think of Fair Warning, Women and Children First, VH II, the 1st release, 1984, just saw them recently and i have to say they were awesome, they did not miss a beat.
