nope... stop caring about his ex!!!
Why would YOU have any legal rights to HER name??? Let it go.. he has a past.. so do you...accept it and move on!!

No you cant force her to change it..Most women go back to there madien name after a divorce unless they had children together. In that case its very normal for the ex to keep the same last name as her kids...Why are you so worried about a last name? Thats the real question.

How is another person's last name a life-altering experience for you?

It's none of your business what her last name is. Maybe she's had the last name for a period of time and doesn't want to go through the hassle of changing her name on every utility bill, credit card, dentist, doctor, with social security, her employer, etc.

People must know her by her married name... it's not your choice whether she keeps it or not.

I think you have issues.

You can't make her change it. It's her name now to do with as she pleases. She is Miss Sue Jones and she will be until she changes her name. She is NOT, however, still Mrs. Jon Jones after they are legally divorced. That's a name that only his *current* wife (soon to be you) can claim.

Remember this saying: Change what you can, and what you can't... Leave it alone.. Just because she is an X.. She does not have to change her name. You have to live with that and be ok.. Never Hate.. Do you and leave her to carry that baggage with her.. Doesn't matter if the marriage ended on good or bad terms-Let her baggage be her baggage and you keep you together

No. She can keep it till the day that she dies. Hopefully, the two of you dont have the same first name. She could do some serious damage then (ie: your credit rating because creditors are stupid).
After all, its just a name.

Seriously? Get over it. Why do you even waste your time filling your head with this stuff? It's garbage. If he's with you he's with you. Thousands of people have the same last name. It sounds like you are bitter and jealous and you should really try to let go...it's not up to you. Chill.

She probably wants it for any kids they have together. I mean their kids have a right to have their father's name it is who they are after all. And it is indeed her choice to use his last name or not. Besides what is wrong with having the same last name? Its not a sign that he loves her any more or less than he loves you. So get over it and be proud to be the new Mrs. so and so.

you can't do anything. Legally that is her name and SHE is the only one who can change it... she can name her kids that last name too (like if she has more in the future)

Sucks but it is what it is :(

she has a legal right to keep using his last name if she so chooses - there is nothing you can do about it. Get over it.

You can't she has every legal right to keep his last name. What does it matter to you? He isn't married to her any more, He is married to you.
