My drier is only a year old and all of the sudden it stopped drying my clothes completely. It takes about a cycle and a half to dry them. It still gets hot and spins. Anyone have an idea of what else it could be?

It takes about a cycle and a half to dry my clothes now. My drier is only a year old. It still gets hot and spins. I also clean the lint filter everytime I use it. Any ideas of what it could be?

This may sound silly but, have you cleaned the lint filter every time you put in a new load? A friend of mine that had a similar complaint realized he wasn't cleaning the lint filter so air wasn't flowing properly.

Hey I know it sounds obvious but clean your lint trap after every use clean your intake and outflow hoses, and even try taking out the lint trap and rinsing it with water in the tap and gently rubbing the screen with an old toothbrush, until water runs through the screen easily, let screen sit to dry, fabric softener and excess soap residue build up and prevent the air from freely blowing through the system. This should be done every few weeks!

As well as checking the lint trap, which should be cleaned every load, check the air intake vent. Lint and dust in the air can clogg up the vents. It sounds to me like the air isnt' getting to it properly

It sounds like either your lint trap is full and clogged or your vent hose is clogged. I've have the hose clogg on me before with the same results.

Check the tube in the back that blows the air outside. The tube could either longer than needed or blocked with extra lint.

Maybe your washer isn't spinning as much of the water out of them... do they feel heavier when you take them out of the washer? Just an idea- if they are wetter going in, it will take longer to dry them.
