I've had the first 2 shots of gardasil but have recently gotten a bit wary about what side effects/risks there are. So anyway I was looking up information about pregnant women and what affects gardasil can have on the fetus... unrelated, I read that gardasil can cause seziures and a whole lot of other disorders and syndromes later on.

I'm not sure how many people are having these effects but would it hurt or cause any problems for me to skip my last shot? Since I've already had 2, I don't know if that wll affect anything or increase the chances of cancer since I wouldn't be completing the whole set ? Or nothing at all? Does anyone know?

Thanks! =)

Actually what someone said is incorrect. Just because you end up getting all three shots does NOT protect you from cervical cancer. YOU CAN STILL GET IT as the vaccine is not 100% effective!!!!! Also it only MIGHT prevent 4 of the over 100 forms of cervical cancer.

IT also has not been tested for long term affects. The vaccine might end up wearing off in a few years and you might need a "booster".

Then there is the fact it contains carcinogens, which can cause CANCER!

There are too many unknowns about this NEW drug that if I or my friends/family were in that age range, I'd vehemently try to convince them to NOT get this vaccine.

Please. Research this vaccine. And make sure it is an INDEPENDENT study done, and not something like the Gardasil website (i.e. biased sites).

I am totally against girls and young ladies getting this vaccine. It's too new, not enough has been done to check for long term effects in women and the children they may bear in the future. Especially when you see it's only fit for females within a certain age range (suspect to me). I honestly think, the long term studies are being run on these very same girls and young ladies getting the shot today. 10-20 yrs from now, we will see an alarmingly high amount of cancers or other diseases in these very same people who are getting the shot at present. In addition, as someone else said, it doesn't protect against it all so you're still at risk of getting cancer.

I say, the best way to prevent contracting an STD is by choosing your partner/s wisely and practicing safe sex, if abstinence is out of the question.

Yeah I do not trust this vaccine. Merck makes it and they are the ones that produced Vioxx (the drug that killed people and was recalled). Their track record is not good. The testing on this vaccine was not that thorough and I think that they are just trying to make some money to recover from the recall of the last Vioxx. Also they have not proven that HPV causes cancer, it is just there in a lot of cases of cervical cancer. Correlation does not mean causation. Some of the ingredients in the vaccine itself are carcinogens... a little contradicting. I would avoid the vaccine.

I believe that once u start it, you have to finish it. The Gardasil shot can have those side effects, however, very few women have experienced it. I was worried about the safety of it too, but I recommend getting the third one. The shot has been around for 2 years and it's very safe.

First, I hate shots, okay. If you don't get all 3 shots it won't work. My mom want's me to get them and I said no. I would just get the last shot overwith and then you can't get cervical cancer but you still have to get a pap test. :( that's the bad part. hope this helps!
