Don't you have a bad attitude.
I started working on cars as a mechanic in the early 1970s. This is a time when people could do work on their own car.
I was a Chrysler Mechanic (we weren't call technicians yet) and talk about crappy electronics, you have not lived until you tried to analyze a Lean Burn System.
Then when the electronics came in I went to an electronic trade school (in the mid 1980s) and found I could make more money repairing computers with a lot less physical labor. And I could stay cleaner too.
So I switched fields. Guess what people do the same thing to computers on the repair end.
And I bet if you poll every technical occupation out there you would run across the same story.
My advice - chill out, except things as they are because you are not going to change human nature. Enjoy the extra money
At the end of the day your blood pressure will be lower and health will be better.
If you don't deal with The Stress - The Stress will deal with you.

A few years ago I too hung up my tools to pursue a more profitable career. I wasn't a Certified Master Tech as I chose to concentrate mainly on Engine Performance and Electrical/Electronic Systems. But, during my last years in the business I started noticing a growing distrust of mechanics. Local repair shops are dwindling away very quickly. The high pressure chain stores are taking over. We've all heard the horror stories from our customers who were lured into those places armed with a fistful of !@#$ing coupons, only to be taken to the cleaners! I believe people who haven't a clue about cars are afraid of talking to mechanics. It takes time to build trust, so techs need to do all they can to earn it. We, the truly good ones, have the patience and the experience to figure out the client's complaint with just small amount of time invested. It always pays off in the long run.

very well put ,i been going through it for a long time also, and it keeps getting worse, even on here they will tell you one thing that it did ,not everything, but my customers are as bad as yours are,i spend a 1/3 of my time figuring out things they could have told me,and then if you remind them of it ,they say oh yes i forgot to mention that part of it,i have a sign up in my shop give all the information you can ,it might save you money, and i don't think anyone has ever read it,you bring up a really good point though, its bad enough doing this for a living let lone having to guess at things but i wish all my customers could see this maybe they would get the hint also,i have heard about some good divorce stories but never about the time the car stopped running and wouldn't start back for 2 hours, you,ll never see it all if you do this another 30 years ,it just keeps getting better, enjoy ,have a good new years.

No; it`s certainly a play of phrases some would take it severe whilst they meant what they stated some stated it only approximately extensive-unfold yet possibly they don`t mean it besides. The phrases look only only rapidly besides the incontrovertible fact that it does pass deep with faith Your poem is an element of a project some thing alike with those phrases yet how does it generally experience whenever you utter those phrases Is it a committment then or extra of a confession?

A DOCTOR! WHY, HE IS A MAN OF GREAT EDUCATION. HE HAS FRAMED DEGREES AND CETIFICATES HANGING ON HIS WALL. HE MAY BE AN IDIOT, BUT WE DON'T SEEM TO SEE THAT. THINK ABOUT IT, WOMEN ( AND SOME MEN) WILL DROP THIER PANTS AND NOT BAT AN EYE.
A MECHANIC, WELL,. HE IS JUST A GREASE MONKEY.
FORGET THE HARD WORK, STUDY, CRASHED HANDS, BURNS FROM HOT PARTS DOING A FAVOR FOR A SCREW BALL IN A MAD RUSH.
ME, ADMIT THE I SCREWED UP MY OWN RIDE!!!

That's nothin. as a fellow MT, you obviously know trouble flows upstream... here's the best of what I heard this week:
"Leased cars don't need oil changes." From a lady with a seized engine...
"It still runs, why do I need to do this?" from a guy with enough sludge in the engine to drown a dinosaur...
"It never freezes here, why do I need to use antifreeze?" from a guy with a blown water pump and serious rust problems...
that's just the start. the first one is my favorite.
