i am currently living here in America and i am almost about to graduate high school. my father thinks that it is a wise decision to send me to the Philippines for college. i am 95% unsure that i dont want to go there only because i already planned to attend college here. but the only thing is what is bothering me is that he will not support me in anyway, which means i have to support myself to pursue my education here in America. I have no clue which is the best decision for me. Help! please and thank you.

Do you know where you want to live in the long run and what you want to study? If you plan to return to the Philippines in the long run, getting a degree there may not be a problem, but if you planned to stay here to work, your degree from the Philippines, in any field other than perhaps nursing, may make it difficult for you to find a job here.

The decision of College is tuff for every one. You should condsider all the pros and cons. If you balance both sides of the deliema you should be able to come up with a solution. Do not let your parents pick your school. That is a personal decision. Many Colleges will give a wavier for the entrance exam and help the student to aquire financial aid. Keep this in mind while you decide. Also be awre that there are Grants available to help you with all the materials you will need to purchase and even help for finding a place to live while you attend school.
