I need to compare "I" with something that's strong... i just can't think of a word that would fit. any ideas??

If you want to put in a simile it would be better to place it closer to "you" eg.
Like an angry lioness defending her cubs, I leapt furiously towards Nicole with all the strength of any enraged mother in defence of her young.

You will need to fill the sentence out with more than a noun to give it vitality. Keep up the good work.
