You've put a lot of questions into this. Too much to answer in this spot in great detail, so let me leave you a few answers and an excellent resource:

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. One, and they're still baffled about how that happened, since I didn't take Clomid.
4. Luck.
5. You'd end up at a fertility specialist if the endocrinologist didn't get your levels in check. S/he should also be someone who has a good rapport with your ob/gyn.
5. Yes. Remember that PCOS is not a disease, but a condition, and that while it's not curable, it IS manageable.

I don't have PCOS but I know that women who have it get pregnant everyday. Don't let it get you down. The main thing is to get your cycles under control, if they are irregular. If you have trouble ovulating, they can stimulate ovulation with medication. Do you have insulin resistance? Sometimes, getting your insulin resistance under control can restore your fertility. PCOS women with insulin resistance have been able to get pregnant by eating a low carb diet and losing a little weight. If weight and insulin aren't an issue for you, then you can probably start taking meds to help regulate your cycle, if you need help in that area.

Bottom line is, PCOS is manageable and you can have babies. You may even be able to do it without medical assistance, depending on which symptoms you have.

Good luck.

hI, I am 20 and was diagnois with pcos when I was 19 (April 2007), It have affect my life I am not fat I us to weight 135lbs now after all of the stress about infertility I am now 120lbs and getting smaller, I have NO kids and have been trying from since I was 16, I did clomid ( The pill use to induce ovulation) 5 cycles and this is my 4th month on metformin, my cycles are wack, it range from like 65-70 days with out ovulation, I am on my period now (TMI sorry) and its getting worst it was on from December 16th, there are treatments for pcos but no cure and it isn't that easy to find the right medication for you, what work for others might not work for you.

My only advised to tell you is start getting it treated now before it gets worst, I wish I knew about it long time so I could have treat it, I have cycts covering both of my ovaries and I wish and cry daily hoping there is a way I could just pop those cycts of.

Woman with pcos can have kids but it'll take much more work to make it hapen, don't lose hope just believe
