I'm not really sure if this is the place to ask, but I'm wondering if someone can help me out and tell me what type of butterfly this is? It's black with yellow stripes, but is not a swallowtail. The picture was taken today in a park in Florida by a river, if that means anything.

There's a picture of it, and there is another picture in there of the underside of the same type of butterfly.... it has some red markings on it. Thanks!

I did do a search, but the only thing i could find that was yellow and black was the Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly, but the size, shape and patterns of that and the one i saw were not the same.... I was thinking someone may have some knowledge of them or better resourses.....

Hello,

The butterfly you photographed is a Zebra longwing butterfly. I found a picture by searching for butterflies found in Florida.

How were you able to capture this picture? I love butterflies and photography.

Thanks,

Janel

What a beautiful creature. I couldn't find it, but did not do an extensive search. If you put in Butterflies on the seach line you can research it yourself.
