Well, I suppose you could make the argument that everybody has a right to a decent house. And my house is very decent. Since I pay more on my mortgage than any other bill (and yes, that includes income tax if you figure it yearly) I'm going to try to get the most out of this situation that I can. Pay my mortgage. If you don't I'm going to call you greedy, selfish, and un-American.

None..I do not need other people (taxpayers) to fund me in any way. I live within my means and have a job pay taxes and contribute.
Besides I would not like the government meddling in my affairs in any shape, form or fashion.
I will leave the paying of personal bill by the government to those who are sucking this country dry and that being one of the major contributors to HIGH TAXES.
We work and pay taxes so those types (many of them) can sit on their can and do nothing but scream for more.

I'm a democrat and I pay my own bills. I'm sorry you feel that people in this country are so bent on socialism. I believe you are incorrect in that assumption. I like to think I can buy what I want with my own money. I'm not in debt and don't want to be.
I see nothing wrong with a huge group government health care plan. People who loose their job at 62 and can't find employment that provides health insurance or enough salary to pay for it until they are 65 are in trouble at this time.
Another instance would be health insurance for people who are already sick and are not eligible for health insurance due to a preexisting condition or people who just plain can't afford it and can't get it through their employment. In the long run, that could actually save the government money. You do realize that people in poverty are already covered by Medicaid, but in order to get medicaid, you have to be destitute.
I don't know if its A right or not but the thought of people dying because they don't have insurance is NOT right. Group plans are what are used now for most people. That means you are paying for other people's insurance as well at this time. So what is the big deal about it?
I know someone who thought Medicaid was a horrible affliction on the country until his wife got Alzheimers and he could no longer care for her. People think it is a bad thing until it saves the roof over their heads. Maybe you think since you've worked hard all your life, nothing can happen to leave you in dire straits. Think again. It happens to hard working people every day. How do you think it feels to work hard all your life and then wind up out on the street?
It would also help businesses who would no longer have to provide insurance for their employees. That is one reason it is very apt to become a reality.

Pet Lic. Fees! What is the purpose of them anyways? If your pet is vaccinated the vet has a record. WHat are the fees for, to keep the lower classes from *legal* pet ownership?
One of the dumbest fees!
Then, for kicks, I'd have them refund some of the FICA fees from the paychecks for the GAS it takes for me to earn the FICA fees!!!

What twisted, deluded, convoluted, logic do you have that makes you think the goverment is a wishing fairy or a genie. That's my money. I want it spent to protect us and promote the general welfare of the country.

Any service that they want to monitor without a warrant for longer than 72 hours. If they pay it, they'll know exactly how it is being used, without being sneaky. Seems like a fair trade to me.
