benazir bhutto, the leader of the Pakistan peoples party was shot in the neck and heart and then a suicide blast occurred. how handy for musharaff that it happened right before elections. her 19 year old son was declared her replacement, with the father co-ruling. there were also riots after her funeral by some of her supporters for three days. 40 people were killed in the sindh region alone.
