Seems to me the demonstrated love of parents and friends at Xmas - once we're aware of it - is far more moving than fantasies of Santa ever were. Although, like fairies and other things Santa's a fun idea while it lasts - until we find reality is closer to home and our hearts.

I hope my kids see it like that when they finally figure it out.

No, Your right when you say that parents demonstrate love. But the eyes of a child light up when they believe in Santa! Once they don't believe anymore it just isn't magic!Something goes away! I only wish I could go back to that time in my life!!

who would ever tell their children such a lie? santa claus? honestly, if there was reason i dont see why not, but there's no reason for telling ur kids that there's a santa claus. they'll have a messed up view of reality, and quite frankly (lol i said quite frankly! ahahah) santa claus doesn't really play much of a roll in the birth of jesus

December 25th is definitely a family day to most. Santa is representative of the giving and magic parents try to bring into their children's lives.

I agree with you completely.

Parents--if they are good--give us the best gift we can possibly receive: security in ourselves and confidence.
