Clay was more popular and came out with an album that was more suited towards what people want to hear.
It was the same thing with Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks, but then Chris Daughtry came and ruled over both of them and he was in 4th so you never know whats going to happen

i think its because clay aiken worked harder after the show
in the studio and doing public appearances
he just hustled more with the opportunity
seems like to me

clay can SSAAAANG :).. people seem to not notice that because of his looks

ruben can SANG as well but I guess everyone just loved clay better. I mean it was one of the most closest votes in AI history XD

could be race....these days in music, if you're black, both male & female, your only option is to be RnB or HipHop, or Rap. Not like it was back in the 90s with people like Tony Braxton and Whitney Houston.
