Ok I'm on the level where there's four 4 statues and a compass in the middle of the room and in your diary it shows you which direction they face, yet I don't know which way to turn them! If someone gives me a detailed answer and is right I'll give them 5 stars.

When ever you are in that room, a specific statue is supposed to be facing in a certain direction.
Even though I've beaten the game 3 times, I don't remember which statue was facing which way. For example, if the statue Mark has a "N" beside his picture in the diary, then use the compass on the ground to have the statue facing North. Just Make sure that the front of the statue is facing in the right direction and that's it.
When you have done everything correctly a doorway will open up.

Turn they in the direction of the compass.
