Hi guys
Im 18 years old and I have had... wow, umm 6 bladder infections since September (my latest one turned into a kidney infection due to my doctor not notifying me of my condition fast enough.) So, I noticed RIGHT before I got the second one, sex hurts. Not like the whole time, but as he enters. As he continues to enter I loosen up but it takes a good ten minutes.

It feels like its burning, stinging, or like he is hitting a wall (like he cant go in any further)

Also, we have to use LOTS of lube. We had been having sex since June so I had pain free sex for 3 months. Could it be coincidental with my bladder infection? Also I read about vaginismus where the muscles upon entering lock up but I havent had a bad experience. We are both std free (tested).

Also, at the beginning of sex I worry that it will hurt and it usually ends up hurting more. i cant relax or become more aroused. My boyfriend sees my hurt face and says we must stop.

I just want to be normal again.

Have you been having sex with the same partner? If so, it's highly likely that he is reinfecting you or you are reinfecting each other. UT (Urinary Tract) infections do cause painful sex.

During sex, bacteria is often forced up into the urethra (of both parties). This can cause an infection of the urinary tract and can make it's way up into the bladder and the kidneys.

In order to solve this, you both need to work at it together. To reduce the amount of bacteria, you both need to be clean prior to having sex, so have a sexy shower together.

Never go from anal contact to vagina contact in the same sex session as this will increase transmitting bacteria. Use a condom and then remove or change it before going from anal to vaginal foreplay/sex.

Pee as soon after sex as you can...within 5 or so minutes. This flushes out your urethra and helps reduce the likely hood of bacteria traveling up your UT.

You must bother drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to flush out your urinary system.

Remember - UT infections are contagious and sex partners usually share them even if unaware they have an infections. It would be very worthwhile if you both went and saw your doctors to discuss the issue, provide urine samples and possibly get antibiotics if the urine tests show you have an infection.

Best of luck hon!

Sounds like a "cystitis" (bladder infection); the "bag" that holds the urine before you urinate. When gets infected the walls get "irritated" and then you have to go often, and when you do burns. In boys is uncommon; if you're not circumsised could be the cause . Other causes could be urinary stones, and quite a few others. You need to have your parents take you to your family doctor the sooner the better.

I had this problem too and finally saw a urologist and he saw my meatus (pee hole) was torn. He put me on Macrobid to take prior to sex. It is a pill and is great! It is an antibiotic and it is safe to take to prevent bladder infections.

It is also helpful to urinate before and after sex. In women the tube going to the bladder is only about 1 inch long so it is easy for bacteria to make its way into the bladder. This is why bladder infections are also called honeymoon cystitis.

Most likey your pee hole is torn and that is why the pain. I recommend your doctor perscribe Macrobid to take prior to sex and after. (one pill a day is what I took).

Your boyfriend can be reinfecting you. He could be carrying the bacteria that is causing your bladder infections and be symptom free himself. He may need to be treated with antibiotic along with you at the same time. Please talk to your doctor and take him with you. Always empty your bladder right before sex, and right after sex.

you may have a shallow vagina, you need to see the gynecologist and see what is going on there. As far as bladder infections, they are common when you are sexually active, unless you are educated on this situation. If he rubs it across your rectum it can cause it also yeast infections.
You definitely need to see the Dr. and explain all this to him, make a list and take it with you.===

OH MY GOD!!! I have the exact same problem. I just didn't think that it had anything to do with bladder infections... i used to get real bad ones too. (and its not like im gross or anything. they just kept on comming, but i havn't had one in a while. so weird!!) and when me and my bf started doing it, i never got the burning or stinging, but the entry and the wall thing...SAME EXACT thing...i asked on this site, its resolved now, but i got a lot of helpful answers. after looking and asking around, i think that its mainly just how deep your vaJJ is, and how big he is. Because after everything loosens up, its alright. (but sometimes, there is still that wall) i'm pretty sure it has something to do with being shallow. (my boyfriend stops to) sorry my answer is long, but i'm just really excited that i'm not the only one out there!! (sorry for you though) and i think i found the answer. i was getting super stressed about it. and bummed. it sucks not enjoying it, and keeping your partener from enjoying it to its full potential. hang in there girl. It will stop soon. i promise. and THANK YOU for sharing.

I have that too, and i've had it for years. I've been doing research lately and i think it something called vaginismus.
