what is the best website editing software that I can use. I am looking for a response from a professional website developer, so if you are, please put a url to your website, is it better to write the whole code, or to write some of the code, or let the software write the whole thing, if so, what software have you used? also the technicalities like the server setup and things like that, how did you handle that? -- n00b wanting to start web design (I know HTML)

I would say Dreamweaver is the best. It has full CSS support. It allows you to work on your site right in the middle of the program. Also, Dreamweaver is completely independent and so you don't need other softwares to run this program.

Although people might recommend you other softwares, this one is the best and I would say you should try it out instead of listening to others. The free demo is available on Adobe's website.

dreamweaver is a pretty good program, at my college they actually had a program that made you use dreamweaver for every website but still edit it by hand when needed for the assignments. So i would say go with that, im not a professional and dont have a url for you as i was in school for software engineering not web design, but we still had to take web for the first year...it didnt make sense.

I prefer dealing with a reliable company.
I used
http://www.geocities.com
They have everything you need as a newie
Domain Name.
Web Hosting Service, and
Software that is WYSIWYG or What You See is What You Get. It also is a cross between Microsofts Frontpage, and Macromedia's Dreamweaver.
You start with a blank page and whatever you put on there is what the page will look like. Next you publish it and thats it.
Addition of links from one page to another or from a page to a site is very simple using there software.Sitebuilder.

It would be "Composer" via the Netscape browser. It's a freebie HTML authoring tool which can read any other authoring tool software and manipulate it [including Dreamweaver].

Good luck!

I write all my code in Notepad ++. I have to write all my code manually, but it gives me a full understanding of how the code works.
