As usual I came over to pick him up to head up to the field for a team meeting. He had gotten up late and he had to go pack his gear bag and his mother was asleep. His father, as usual, greeted me and then went out to the balcony. As I sat on the sofa, I did not turn on the TV as usual since his mother was asleep and then I heard his father talking softly on his cellphone. (he almost never does this) The words I heard were " i'm sorry but right now i'm at beach, i don't think we will be able to meet tonight"

His father has been known to be a "Casanova" i don't know if this is the correct word to use. But he has done it before and who knows how many more times. I mean he has been caught and he still does show signs of "attraction" towards other women, including workers at the company. IN ADDITION the company is not working till January cuz my dad works there and my parents and his are planning to go to Mexico for some reason.

You don't know he's cheating. Don't say a thing.

You're right, it sure sounds suspicious. But, I don't think I would word it to your best friend that way...you should probably tell him exactly what you heard....exactly....and instead of telling him what you think (that his father is cheating), just ASK him what he thinks. Probably, he already knows (or suspects) and he can confront his father or not...after you tell him, you can then be a sympathic shoulder or ear for him. It's not your job to judge, but being a best friend is what you can do best. Sad situation, and by the way....if he doesn't want to talk about it or confront his Dad...that's okay too. It's up to him, ya know?

I don't think you can suspect anything if all you heard was that part of his phone conversation. There could be many different explanations for him saying "i don't think we will be able to meet tonight". So I suggest not saying anything to your friend, because you do not know the full story.

dude.. forget it.. you are making a big deal over what is probably nothing... it could be a bunch of things.. not just that he may be cheating... dont say anything to your friend or anyone.. unless if this kind of things continue to happen, and you are completely sure.. then maybe say something, but this is still something that it would be best if you did not say a thing.
good luck
and i hope you do what is right
have a happy new year
peace

A good friend will not say anything! It is the right thing to do believe it or not. Plus those words you heard could mean something completley different form what you suspect.

Frankly, I wouldn't say anything. While what you overheard *could* be construed as evidence of an affair, he could also have been meeting anyone. Things like this are best left alone, especially since you have no proof at all. You could damage your friendship beyond repair if you made that accusation.

Don't go there. You have absolutely no proof or reason to believe that he's cheating for sure. Even if you did, it's NOT YOUR PLACE to tell your friend. Don't get yourself wrapped up in something that in no way concerns you. If you're wrong, you're still going to screw up the family. If you're right, you'll be the reason your best friend's family fell apart. AND you're ruining your friendship, either way. Just don't go there.

You don't. First of all, it's none of your business. Second of all, that conversation could have meant something completely different than you think, so you could be stirring up trouble where there is none. (For example, the boss could have been calling him to attend a meeting that evening, and he was making an excuse to not attend.)

I would lay low and see if you can pick up more clues first just to be sure, and when you are certain, let your friend know. I'd hate for this to go on longer than it should knowing he could have been stopped. Coming from a woman who's been cheated on, get proof and then speak up.

set your friend down and say...."ok you know you are like a bro to me and i just want to tell you something but you swear not to get mad at me...well when i came over to pick you up i THOUGHT i heard your dad say "im sorry......beach...cant meet up"
but before you tell him anything make sure he is cheating on him because if not you could start alot of drama in his and your life...but DONT try to talk to his dad that would be kinda wierd..
HOPE THAT HELPS
HAPPY NEW YEAR
