Filipinos believe that at New Year's eve, the doors and windows should be open for blessings to come into the house.

Wearing polka dots on New Year's eve will bring lots of money throughout the year.

Putting twelve round fruits on the table is believed to bring in lots of money for every month of the new year.

If someone were to put money in their pocket on New Year's eve, he or she will have money for the rest of the year.

When I was a teen, the moment the clock struck twelve, I and my siblings were asked to jump as high as we can. The act is supposed to make us tall.

Also, during December 31, mom is very specific in having the whole house spotlessly clean. This is supposed to make our home clean the whole year round.

Also, all the containers at our house are filled to the brim - coffee, milk, sugar and creamer containers and even our rice dispensers and whatnot so the whole year, we have an abundance of such.

Hmm.. There's one thing I can think of... It's something about paying off all your debts before starting a new year or face the whole year of being in debt...

Kahlan and the others already stole the show for me, but I can only say that many New Year's eves, I've been thinking of the sexiest girls to spend my cold and lonely nights, so that I was thinking "green". Now, look! I'm green all over!

The rice container must be full to the brim so year round we would be blessed with provisions , All children must jump near the door so they grow taller , All lights must be open even in your parked cars so as to guide the Angels bringer of blessings from God . My mother always wear duster with polka dots , representing riches the whole year round and your pockets must be filled with coins which you jiggle when clock hits twelve oçlock , so money keeps jiggling in your pockets all year round.
