am a casting director and I'll tell you what you need to become an successful actor or actress in 5 steps:

1. you don't need a Diploma or a degree in acting to become an successful actor/ actress.

2. make sure you get a degree in something other then acting just to be on the safe side. if you don't have any success in acting then you can go back to your degree and get a good payed job.

3. Agents play a big part in an actor's world. make sure you ask around and get a good agent.

4. if you move to Los Angeles it increases your chances of being a successful actor/ actress.

5. in an audition be yourself and don't act like something your not. we only look for people that have confidence in what their doing.

let me tell you something as a friend show business is a very mean business. the casting directors will call you names and take piss out of you but don't say anything back because they just want to see how you react to what they call you. Good Luck.

No, it's never too late! Just start doing plays at school, community theatres, etc. and take some workshops/acting classes. Read books, do whatever you can. I've been told (in fact I think it was on this site) that a lot of people study performing arts in college without any previous experience at all. If it's what you love then go for it! Your passion will make up for lack of experience.

A 16 yr old who wants to go to college should have better command of English than you exhibit. Are you in the UK? Trying performing art, whatever that means, will be fine even with no experience as you may exhibit some natural ability. If not, they will tell you to forget it.

Its never too late. If you are agar enough and are capable of improving then you'll do fine, possibly better than the "I've been acting since I was 5" prima donnas out there.

:)
