You would have to drop the gas tank and flush it out.

Sugar in the tank won't hurt your engine but it may clog your fuel filter. If you want to do the drain and flush yourself be extremely careful. ANY little spark, such as scraping the tank on the pavement can cause an explosion. A lot of people have been seriously burned and killed messing around with gas tanks. If you're not handy with tools and/or not familiar with the job you're better having this one done by a shop.

You should be fine. My brother in law had this done to him a while back. He drove or should i say he tried to drive his truck for a while. He was told by 2 different shops that his transmission was bad. He had it rebuilt and low and behold that wasn't the problem. The truck would idle but as soon as you put it in gear it would start missing very bad. Since the tranny was new we started checking everything that would cause the truck to miss. When we pulled the injectors we found them almost completely clogged with sugar. We drained the tank and cleaned the injectors and it has been running fine ever since. Every now and then it misses a little and more than likely he needs to replace the injectors with new ones but he is too cheap!!!!!!!!!!

that certainly helps that the engine was never started and the hope of just draining and flushing the tank will probably be fine, the longer it sits though still makes the likely hood of damage greater. the sugar has dissolved and with all newer cars the fuel delivery system is located in the fuel tank. have the vehicle taken ASAP to a garage to have the tank dropped and flushed/or exchanged outright(best idea)

well ,it will be ok kinda, gotta remove the tank and clean out the fuel lines , but your engine will be fine, it is the heat that the dissolved sugar adds to normal combustion that melts holes in your pistons and "scores" the piston rings...sugar burns very hot the problem is the mess the sugar has made in your tank, probably most of the sugar is not dissolved and will clog your fuel filters and gas lines. but so long as you haven't ran the engine its internal parts will be OK

Yup, best bet is to drop the tank and get it steam cleaned or replaced outright. Only water will dissolve the sugar. Fuel conditioner won't touch it. Replace the fuel filter while you are at it. You have saved yourself hundreds by not starting the vehicle.
Sugar does not make the fuel "burn hotter". It clogs fuel injectors and causes the car to run lean and damages pistons from excessive heat in the combustion chamber.

.Have your car towed to a shop so that they can properly drain your gas tank. Most new cars have the fuel pump inside the tank along with a screen that works as a filter. The sugar can harden in these components and cause them to malfunction. The mechanic can also flush your fuel lines with compressed air and solvent. Hopefully it did not get to your fuel injectors or cylinders .

Take the fuel tank off and flush the sugar out, put the tank back on fill with fresh clean fuel . crank it up and off you go .. for an extra , buy a locking gas cap , so this wont happen again .

Then you are lucky and just need to clean out the gas tank really well. Drop the gas tank or just drain every bit of the gas and then just flush it really well
