No, he does not have to attend high school anymore.
Once he has a high school diploma, he's O.K. to go to many colleges in U.S.
"Many" but not "all", because some schools require Tests' High Scores (different tests depend on different schools, different states,...) At that point, it's up to him and his scores!

It would probably be a good idea to check with the college first. You might want to see if the tutition or fees will be higher because he has not been living in the US. I know if you move from state to state to go to college it costs about twice as much. You might also check with your local community college. They are much easier to get into and cost a lot less.
