I think you changed your Avatar to someone else's so we wouldn't miss you so much while you're gone, am I right?
I imagine that the Lebanese also celebrate it as we do or basically the entire planet does... with cheers and fireworks, etc... actually, I know they don't drink, so...someone else would have to explain it ... maybe with prayers of thankfulness which is much nicer than champagne, anyway.
I'm just butting in here to take advantage and wish all these nice fellows from Yahoo Answers/ Lebanon a wonderful, blessed New Year...May God's blessings be very present in your every day in 2008!

The Lebanese spent 50 million Dollars on New Year's Eve this year .. most of the money was spent by the 5% rich minority in Hotels like Movenpick and Vineccia ... tickets to Nawal El Zoghbi were sold for $800 .. Nancy Ajram for $500 ... Fadl Shaker and Yara $250-400 ...

I do not like being around a crowd that i do not know, with loud music and cold/yucky food.
I would rather be around loved ones, good food and listening to what we really like to hear
