It sounds like the perfect compromise. What do you think?

Seems like this needs clarification. First of all I do care about people, that is why I don't think it is a good idea for everyone to run around with concealed weapons. That doesn't mean I don't think people don't have the right to own a gun. Let's get that straight. Also, by this logic I'm hearing in these answers, drugs should all be legal too. The answers I'm hearing in this forum prove to me one thing. That some people don't understand the meaning of compromise. To get something you want, you have to give up something you want. I believe this solution falls in line with the second amendment, and also satisfies those who believe in gun control.

Paintball is ok!

Wait a minute. I see why you are all confused. When I say "restrict access" I'm thinking more along the lines of controlled access, similar to pseudophederine containing medications.

Why would you do that? Criminals will always find a way to accomplish the crime they want to commit - unless we actually start giving punishments that are actual deterrents. By limiting ammunition, you are punishing law abiding citizens by limiting their hobby and reducing crime.

I don't see what restricting access to ammunition would do. I mean, if you really wanted ammunition, there's a way to get around it. That suggestion would just lead to a blackmarket involving ammunition.

Just doesn't seem like a good solution to me. Besides, most people who do bad things with guns, don't obtain them legally.

EDIT:

Dealing with your edit. Not everyone runs around with a concealed weapon. Those who do have concealed weapons LEGALLY had to go through major background checks to get them. It's not the second amendment that's the problem. It's the people who break the law in the first place that are causing the problems.

Oh yeah, give me the gun but no the ammo..smart..the criminals won't be restricted they always find a way to get what they want and I will have lot's of guns and no boom boom. How about we add tougher gun related enhancers to the laws and uphold the ones we do have to send the criminals away for a long time and in some cases yes...execute them for using guns in the commission of their crimes..instead of penalizing the law abiding, tax paying citizen.

The Second Amendment, as passed by the House and Senate, reads:

“ A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. ”

The original and copies distributed to the states, and then ratified by them, had different capitalization and punctuation:

“ A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

I don't like the idea. The right to bear arms is you have a right to buy it ,have it, use it . Restricting access to ammo is just asking for trouble.

Spoken like a true liberal.. heres a novel idea, ask the criminals to stop carrying concealed weapons, once they all comply, i'll be happy to leave my legally carried weapon at home...

Good Idea! But wait, there's more! while we're at it we'll "interpret" the constitution to say that all speech is free, you just cant print or say it!

So your solution to violence is to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves. Seems like you don't care for people.
