The same happened to me. It usually loses effect in 2 - 3 days. Then you can participate again.
I asked the same question last year (2006), and I got an answer saying I won too much! Maybe the same with you! Do you remember insulting someone or using profanity in the chess room? Maybe that's the reason. If not, then it might be a bug. Yahoo! chess is full of them. Nothing waiting won't fix, though. Play something else like checkers or play chess with your friends face-to-face.

Same thing happened to me. i got barred until Friday January 01 7:59:59 2021! it started about two weeks ago! and it still hasent let me play!

was it yahoo? was it until Jan. 03 08?...because I got barred from spades until Jan. 3 08...give me an answer and maybe we can resolve this together! because I do not understand why I was barred either!
