Pilling and lint can be caused by over-drying your clothes. Check your clothes in the dryer frequently and remove them when dry. Using a dryer sheet may help this problem, as well.

Shirts with graphics should be washed inside-out to prevent cracking and then either air dried or dried on a lower cool setting.

Remember that drying these items alone on a full cycle will cause them to overheat and over-dry faster than a full load.

Try washing in cold or warm water, never hot. They say you can wash everything in cold water and it works but I like warm.

My kids were complaining about their t-shirt shrinking in the wash.
I now take the clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer for about 5-10 minutes to get out the wrinkles, then I hang most of the clothes on hangers. No need to iron or smooth out the clothes with your hands. If you pull something out of the dryer while still wet and it is wrinkled just put it back in for a few minutes. It works.......no more kids complaining about shrunken clothing.

Frances M has it right. I might add though that you can get a really neat, new look to your t-shirts with and without graphics by pulling them out of the dryer one at a time while damp and immediately laying them flat and "ironing" them w/ your hands. Let them dry flat OR if not very heavy weight fabric, hang them on a tubular hanger to finish drying after the hand ironing. Keep T-shirts looking new forever!

Don't over dry. Use the medium or delicate setting. High will melt graphics and shrink clothing.

Never overload the washer or the dryer. And never use HOT water or HOT in the dryer. cold water and "air" only in the dryer.

turn your clothes inside out, adjust the water level and temperature, use cool water and delicate cycle, use fabric softener, pull out things from the dryer if you think it might shrink before cycle is complete...use low heat

good luck

Sounds like your dryer heat is too high. Also, try washing in cooler water.

I hang dry all my t-shirts and such. They last longer, and it has the plus of saving electricity, too!
