The fact that you used two absolutes in there is going to prevent just about everyone from saying yes. Always, every, really really hard. Sounds more like you're trying to make a point than ask a question. But I get your point, and although sometimes feelings can be whimsical and need no rhyme or reason, I also find it helpful to know myself- where things come from and where they go in me. Otherwise it becomes easy for me to justify being dangerously irrational or disassociating myself from the things I do and saying it was just because I felt like it. So, is it a necessity? No. Is it helpful? "Always."

You don't always have to give one, but I'm sure there's a good reason for every emotion you have. If all of a sudden you become depressed for no reason, it could just be a chemical imbalance in your brain or your hormones acting up It could also be something subconscious that you don't see.

Every emotion has a reason, but sometimes we are not able to explain it or are even aware of the reason. That is ok by me. Emotions are all real.

No. But it's healthy to try to understand why you feel what you feel. You'll have a better understanding of your moods and emotions and learn how to deal with them effectively.

No. I often tell myself that emotions and feelings are not facts. This helps me a lot.

It's really frustrating when I don't know why I feel a certain way, but I KNOW there is a source.
Sometimes I glance at a calendar and realize Aunt Flo is due for a visit... in THAT case... problem solved. lol
