I don't think you are alone in the depression department. Many people suffer from some form of depression during the holiday season. It could be all hype of expectations and wonderful joyous times that everyone else but yourself seem to be experiencing. Don't put so much pressure on yourself that things will be perfect and different than in the past.

Possibly because you are coming out of holiday high adrenaline times, and maybe you don't have a SO/bf/gf in your life. Starting a new year is like starting a new life, but with past mistakes and experiences looking at us. We may have not had a good year, so we get sad and depressed from what never happened.
Refocus, make a list of what you want 2008 to be, and try to make that happen. Hate your job; get more education or get a better job. Hate your relationship; get help or get out. In other words, write down what seems to be bothering you and then see what can be done to change it.
Have a great day and a happy forever. It all depends on YOU>

Sometimes this time of year allows us to reflect on our accomplishments and/or failures from this past year.

The thing to keep in mind is that a new year is coming, and the past is done. You can't change it. None of us can. But you can shape your future by using the knowledge you've gained from the past year to better yourself for 2008.

Even more so, you are alive! Life is a precious gift, and we too many times take it for granted. Take one day at a time, and forget about the part of the past that may be depressing you.

If you've never been a believer in Jesus Christ, ask Him to make Himself real to you. Ask expecting. Ask with your heart. Do that, and He will give you the peace that goes beyong all understanding (6-7Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.--Phillipians :7)

The accompanying picture is so entirely depressing, I was hoping it would jolt you out of your depression. This time of year is filled with some many expectations of happiness, that often we feel a disconnect from our self. This is somewhat normal. We can't have it our way all the time.

well i think that everyone is depressed during new years. its just part of life, the end of the year makes u realize that another year of life is gone. its scary to think but if u live life to the fullest you wont mind it so much and in turn feel less depressed. enjoy life!
