They will probably miss the playoffs but they will be in the race for the wild card. They have a good offense and decent pitching, but there is too many great teams in the AL.

I totally think they are gonna rule. They are gonna sweep their first series of the season. When the Cubs come south the sox will blow them away by at least 10 points each game. They will also show the Red Sox how it is done in Chicago by kicking their asses all the back to Boston. There is no question that they are gonna make it in the playoffs and the world series. I predict the world series will be swept by the Sox..again!!!

Right now they haven't done anything to improve themselves and I don't see a way they can't finish ahead of Detroit or Cleveland. And, if the Twins hang on to Santana and Lariano comes back healthy they will probably will finish behind them as well. To make things worse, the Royals are going to be better than last year so if they do well where does that leave the White Sox?

They lack a leadoff hitter, have an aging and injury prone lineup and a mediocre pitching staff. They dont have a very good farm system either. There relief pitching is decent and they have two good bats in Konerko and Dye. Yet, they play in the American league and cant possibly compete with the Tigers or Indians. They will most likely finish 3rd or 4th

Sorry but the White Sox will be terrible again. Ozzie is a terrible manager. He thinks that the problem with the offense is they don't bunt enough. He thinks getting out on purpose is a good idea. He also thinks batting Scott Podsednik and Darin Erstad at the top or the order is a good idea even though they get out way more often then they get on. If I was a manager I wouldn't put my 2 worst hitters at getting on base before my heart of the lineup. I want guys who get on base before the sluggers. Also, their pitching isn't any good either. Beuhrle is Beuhrle, hes ok but not an ace. Javier Vazquez is also quite bad. Jose Contreras is terrible. Better hope Danks and Floyd come up big otherwise your looking at a last place team.

If I had to guess this early on, I'd say they'll be a .500 team next year. I think they need a couple more years to rebuild. Konerko is one of my faves, so I'd like to see them get into the playoffs, but I just don't think it'll happen in '08...

Well, unfortunately for the southsiders, at the end of the season they'll be looking up at the Royals from the cellar of the AL Central.

Right now, I really do not know. We didn't really need a shortstop in Cabrera. Sure it helps b/c of Uribe but we could still win with a weak hitter at short. And we got rid of Garland.

Lineup
1. CF Jerry Owens
2. SS Orlando Cabrera
3. DH Jim Thome
4. 1B Paul Konerko
5. RF Jermaine Dye
6. C AJ Pierzynski
7. 3B Josh Fields
8. LF Carlos Quentin
9. 2B Danny Richar

Jerry Owens- Can he take on the full starting job in center???
Orlando Cabrera- Great player, should do fine in the #2 hole.
Jim Thome, AJ Pierzynski, Jermaine Dye, and Paul Konerko should do fine.
I like Josh Fields at third seeing as Crede is up for trade but I want him at third.
We really don’t know about Quentin as a starter yet.
And Richar might be a weak hitter.

BUT YA NEVER KNOW!

We needed a center fielder this off-season. We couldn’t do anything about Hunter with all the money he got. But Jacque Jones and Aaron Rowand were out there. But Kenny Williams waited too long and now we have to trade players for them.

Relief pitching is still weak! Scott Linebrink was signed to a 4 yr. 19 million contract. That is way to long and too much for a relief pitcher! And we haven’t signed anyone else!

Starting pitching has Buehrle and Vasquez and Contreras. Contreras had a shaky season last year. Our only starters guaranteed to do good are Buehrle and Vasquez!

The general management has got us into this hole. I’m not sure we can do too good unless Kenny Williams does something GOOD to help us. Let’s hope for an awesome season!

GO WHITE SOX!

I have been thinking about this myself, and have come up with an exciting discovery. The White Sox are going to the World Series for this reason:
1916- Red Sox win World Series
1917- White Sox win
2004- Red Sox win World Series
2005- White Sox win
So....
2007- Red Sox win World Series
2008- Well..... I can only hope I am right!
At this point in the off-season, it looks as though the White Sox are going to break this lovely pattern. But you never know what will happen, we will just have to wait it out and see!
